Seoul Gimpo International Airport (GMP) is Korea's second-largest airport after Incheon International, with the capacity to handle around 250,000 flights per year.

While many visitors to Seoul fly into the city via Incheon Airport, many others arrive via Gimpo. Visitors come with both leisure and business agendas and both require a high standard of hotels and similar accommodation.

Seoul: Airport Hotels and Accommodation

There are no dedicated airport hotels and visitors may be required to travel for around 20 minutes to reach downtown Seoul, where the best hotels reside. However, the Mayfield Hotel hotel is amongst the closest to Seoul Gimpo International Airport and can be reached in just five minutes, boasting more than 200 guest rooms spread across six floors, with a comprehensive business centre and a number of functions rooms, together with a sea-water swimming pool, restaurant, and lounge - complete with tropical water features. Also worth noting, the Grand Hilton Seoul serves the needs of both tourists and business visitors, with a wealth of amenities and services, such as business facilities and a 2,500-capacity convention centre.

Seoul: City Hotels and Accommodation

The greatest selection of hotels can be found in the city centre, around 17 km / 11 miles east from Seoul Gimpo International Airport (GMP). Ranging from budget accommodation for backpackers to the most luxurious hotels that you can imagine, the city of Seoul really does have it all when it comes to lodging.

Those visiting Seoul on a budget should consider the city's inexpensive motels and youth hostels, where rates are cheapest for members and include both dormitory beds and separate rooms. Also popular, although more expensive, are the traditional Korean inns, where mattresses are laid directly on the floor.

Mid-range accommodation in Seoul comes in the form of modern hotels, with excellent facilities and amenities. Many of these hotels comprise their own restaurants, swimming pools and fitness centres, which tend to make them particularly good value for money.
